Judah's House is a faith-based program with a vision to rescue women and their children from homelessness, financial difficulty, abandonment and dangerous environments by providing a place of refuge for them. Our ultimate goal is to provide shelter, advocacy, prevention and education.
With an emphasis on advocacy, prevention and education, the goal of Judah's House is to prepare and equip women to live by higher standards, find well-paying jobs, and reach a place where she is independent and able to provide the necessary resources for her family.
Hope Lives Here
“You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.”
— Maya Angelou
Our goal is to rescue women and their children from abusive, dangerous environments by providing a place of refuge where they can be restored and healed by the power of the Holy Spirit in order to be equipped for healthier life in Christ Jesus.
Judah's House is a non-profit 501c-3 organization, a subsidiary of Cross Community Development Corporation, and is based in San Benito, Texas. Currently Judah's House is located within the community on a 15-acre property. The home has over 7,000 square feet of living space. It has 14 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, 3 kitchens and plenty of living and dining space. The objective is to create a warm and inviting place of refuge for all who enter it.
Judah’s House was birthed in the heart of a local Pastor’s wife, Rose Mary Loya. After witnessing the need, first-hand, through 22 years of ministry, Pastor Rose, along with her husband, Jaime Loya, stepped out in faith to begin this ministry.
For many years, their hands have been tied, unable to help the homeless, abandoned, or displaced woman and her children. Hope has now come alive, and hope is not dead. Hope lives here, in the heart of those who will come through our doors and experience the unconditional love of God and the tender touch of other women who desire to make a difference.
Our hearts are grateful for all of those who have contributed in one way or another.
